Miss SA hopeful, Bianca Schoombee has issued an apology asking South Africans for a second chance after she was heavily criticized following the resurfacing of her old racist tweets.
The 21-year old student and model, first won the hearts of citizens when she posted her virtual Miss SA entry on Saturday explaining why she believes she can become Miss South Africa.
However, the atmosphere quickly took a different twist after a thread of old racist tweets were exposed in which she used the N- word and body shaming.
Bianca in her apology cites that she was young during the time those tweets were posted and seeks a second chance as she believes she is a changed person.
“In light of recent event regarding my tweets from 6 years ago when I was 14 years old, I would like to profusely apologize for putting it out into the universe then,” she said.
Bianca also adds that she has dealt with her past by praying and using social media to better herself and she now wants South Africans to forgive her and continue to support her on her endeavor on the Miss SA pageant.
“I really hope that South Africa can forgive me for those immature posts, as I have forgiven myself and moved on. I really hope that you continue to support me as we all deserve a second chance,” she said.
