The KwaZulu-Natal provincial government opened a bulk-buying warehouse in Mandrin, outside KwaDukuza yesterday.
The initiative aims to cut out the middle man and allow traders to buy stock for their spaza shops at reduced prices.
MEC for Economic Development, Sihle Zikalala says this initiative will spread throughout the province.
“We will continue as we are launching this project. We will be taking it to Durban and to all other areas of KwaZulu-Natal.”
