PSL partners with SAPS to prevent crime

The Premier Soccer League (PSL), working together with South African Police Service (SAPS) announced a historic partnership earlier today.
This partnership will play a strategic role in crime prevention more especially amongst the youth. The PSL chairman, Dr. Ivan Khoza together with the Minister of Police Mr. Bheki Cele made the announcement in Johannesburg today, 06 September 2018.

The initiative will commence this weekend ahead of the opening festival of the MultiChoice Diski Challenge in Hammersdale, Kwazulu Natal.

"Football has a vital role to play in assisting the SAPS to address some of the challenges", said Dr. Khoza.

This initiative will be rolled out throughout the country during the 9 Diski Challenge Festivals.
Khoza added, "as football, we cannot fold our arms and say the challenges our country face in relation to crime is not our problem. Instead of the blame-game and finger pointing, we had to ask ourselves 'what can we do to make a difference'. Prevention is better than cure. With this initiative, we seek through action and not just words - to play a meaningful role in the revival of the value system more especially amongst the young people."
